Action Areas for Climate Change Policy

This section focuses on a number of areas and sectors that are affected by and/or contribute to climate change - thus the fields where climate policy is implemented.

In some of these areas, like energy, water or disaster management, there is already substantial gender-related knowledge and data available. In most of the others, such as migration or coastal zone management, we need to know much more.

Research and gender disaggregated data are essential to inform the design of climate change policies and ensure thatthey are effective in terms of carbon reduction, social development, poverty eradication and gender equality.
