Tools for gender analysis, training and participation
In this section you will find downloads and links to methodologies and practical tools to support the integration of gender aspects and to improve equal participation of women and men. Although there is a wide range of tools available, addressing many different issues, tools addressing exclusively climate change measures, programmes and projects are missing. At least we don’t know about them. If anybody is aware of such tools, please let us know.
Nevertheless, tools developed to mainstream gender into environmental policy or projects, to sensitize and train project managers, checklists and questions to be answered in order to assess projects from a gender perspective, are being developed by researchers, practitioners and networks working on issues closely connected to climate change, like energy, water or disaster.
There might be some efforts needed to adopt the tools to the field of climate change, though there is no need to wait until they are available: you can start by using these tools and disseminate your experiences and suggestions for improvement into the gender and climate change community.
The tools are roughly ordered in three categories:
- Analysis
- Education and communication
- Participation
