Climate for Change: Gender Equality and Climate Policy
The project aimed at improving the participation of women in the decision making processes related to climate protection, with an emphasis on the local level. The main work packages comprised an analysis of instruments and policies applied in several local authorities in Europe, working with experts and, in the end, providing the 'Climate for Change' toolkit.
The toolkit contents:
- Data - Facts - Arguments including the findings and the results of the "Climate for Change" project and extensive background information from all over Europe.
- Gender Checklist an invitation to view climate change departments through "gender perspective glasses".
- Tools for Promoting Women in Executive Positions with implementation guidelines, instructions and suggestions as well as a variety of examples.
- Poster and Leaflet to hang and distribute in climate change departments, for the purpose of promoting awareness of the issue on the part of as many employees as possible.
The project was coordinated by the Climate Alliance of European Cities. 13 partners - European cities, networks and experts were working together in ordner to compile the tool-kit.. The checklist and tools are available in English, Italian, German, Swedish and Finnish
