With a touch of paint, women slum dwellers battle extreme heat

This article demonstrates how simple adaptation activities can make a huge difference in the life of female slum dwellers. It highlights a project conducted by the Mahila Housing Trust in the slums of the West-Indian city Ahmedabad that teaches women to reduce the heat in their houses by painting their tin roof with white reflective paint. Urban heat waves are a serious thread to the health and lifes of people in many parts of the world and are said to increase due to climate change.
