Feminists Condemn Philippines President Duterte's Accusation of Activists and Indigenous People Leaders as Terrorists"

GenderCC along with more than 130 organizations sign ons and delivered the statement to the Philippine Consulate in NYC, with an action that had more than 60 people come out.  The Women’s Major Group delivered a combined letter to the  Philippine President Rodrigo R. Duterte, calling on the Philippine government to: 1. Remove the names of indigenous peoples’ leaders and human rights defenders from the list ofalleged terrorists; 2. Ensure the physical safety of indigenous peoples’ leaders and human rights defenders; 3. Have the Philippine president make a public apology for the emotional and physical harm he
has caused for activists, and; 4. Abide by State obligations to protect human rights and fundamental freedoms, including
access to justice, freedom of expression and of association. Read the letter here
