Women take control of the solar revolution

The solar revolution is reaching the remotest parts of Asia and changing the lives of women otherwise trapped in poverty as Paul Brown writes in an article published by the Climate News Network.

 

Brown highlights two programmes that have received the international Asheden Awards for encouraging and supporting women to bring the solar revolution to parts of rural India and Nepal. Thanks to these female entrepreneurs remote villages now have access to electricity and are connected to a power grid opening up new opportunities for women's empowerment and equal opportunities.
